Jamshedpur: Commercial flight services have started from Jamshedpur (Sonari) airport in Jharkhand from January 31,2023. Chief Minister Hemant Soren inaugurated this function at 10 am.


This is the third airport in the state to start regular commercial flight services. Flights to Kolkata and Bhubaneswar will soon be available from here.


The Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) recently approved airport flight services at Sonari, Jamshedpur. After this, the flight service of India One Air Company will start for the first time.

India One Air Company website ticket booking has started and you can book limited seats.


It was informed that the flight will take off from Bhubaneswar airport at 9 am and land at Sonari airport at 10.50 am. The flight from Sonari Airport to Kolkata departs at 11.30 AM and 12.00 PM. 


The return flight took off from Kolkata at 1.35 pm and will reach Sonari airport at 2.30 pm. India One Air claimed that the fixed fares from Sonari airport to both cities were very low.


DGCA has given provisional permission

As of now, the trip has received provisional permission from the DGCA. Flights to Kolkata have been allowed till February 14 and to Bhubaneswar till March 25. Commercial flights can be expected to start from Bokaro and Dumka airports in Jharkhand within a month or two.


The airport at Bokaro was developed by SAIL. Here the ATC tower, runway, fire foot, passenger lobby, main gate, and other structures have been completed. Application has been made for a license from DGCA.


Airport Authority North Eastern Region General Manager GG Thakaran also inspected the airport in November last year. 


An MoU between SAIL and DGCA is expected to be signed soon to start the flight services. Also, Alliance Air and SpiceJet have jointly agreed to start flights from here.


Immediate flights from Dumka and Bokaro

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who came to inaugurate the Deoghar airport in July, had said that flight services from Bokaro would start soon. 


Similarly, about 95 percent of the airport being constructed by the government at Dumka has been completed. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia assured that flight services will start from here soon. 


Ranchi and Deoghar airports in Jharkhand are now operational. With the commencement of services at three new airports, Jharkhand's air connectivity is sure to improve


Jamshedpur to Kolkata at just Rs.1999


India One Air CEO Arun Kumar Singh said the fare from Jamshedpur to Kolkata has been maintained at Rs 1,999. The fare from Jamshedpur to Bhubaneswar is Rs 2999. This fee is valid till 14 February 2023. Passengers can book tickets online.


Chief Minister Hemant Soran said that the Jamshedpur-Kolkata flight service has started to increase in connectivity.

Jamshedpur-Bhubaneswar flight service will start soon


Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, while addressing the online program, said that a glimpse of the determination to bring air service to the people across the country is going to be possible with the commencement of flight service from Anjam Jamshedpur to Kolkata.


He said that the air connectivity under the Udan service will be expanded rapidly. He said that in the last two decades many airlines from around the world have shut down here, while the arrival of three new airlines in India bodes well. On this occasion, he said that initiatives are being taken to connect Jamshedpur to Kolkata and Bhubaneswar by air as soon as possible.


Air service is available every day

India-One offers flights from Jamshedpur to Kolkata and Kolkata to Jamshedpur on 9-center Grand Caravan X (C208B) aircraft.


Through this initiative, India-One Air is expanding its connectivity to Jharkhand, Bengal and Odisha. The service will be launched every day from February 1, 2023.


This flight will take passengers from Jamshedpur at 10.15 AM to Kolkata at 11.20 AM and from Kolkata at 12.10 AM to Jamshedpur at 1.20 AM.
